Well, I’ve finally weighed all the issues and have formed an opinion on the proposed Northwoods League team in Waukesha. See below for my email to my alderman, Rick Tortomasi.
Mr. Tortomasi,
Just wanted to pass on my opinion on the above two topics.
While I would like to see the proposed baseball team in Waukesha, I think Frame Park is a poor choice for a location. It may be true that the park is for everyone to enjoy, I doubt that the founders of the park envisioned a commercial venture in that setting. Why should we ruin the ambiance of the park when there are several other viable alternative locations like WCTC, Fairgounds, etc.?
Also, the proposed spending of $1.6M on the children’s library is absurd. I would invite you to spend some time in the current children’s library and I think you would see that it is quite functional as it stands. Spending that type of money when my son’s elementary school (Bethesda) doesn’t even have a librarian on staff would be putting the cart before the horse.
Thanks for listening to my view.

I remember going to Bethesda. Real shame they have no librarian – I remember our computer / library classes happening in the Pit with the librarian.
I also remember the worst book in the school library – Spells, Hexes and Witchcraft – in the nonfiction section. I think every boy checked it out at some point because it had a drawing of Eve (in the buff).
