This past winter, we purchased a used pop up camper, a dream of ours for the last 10 years. We spent this weekend at a private campground in Baraboo. We’ve been there several times over the last 5 years, and do enjoy it. It’s called Baraboo Hills, and it is very clean and well-run. However, we’ve become camping snobs and tend to favor state campgrounds. After this weekend, This was reinforced even more. For as nice as Baraboo Hills is, it just doesn’t have the nature factor that you find at a state park. Below are some breathtaking photos I took last month on a trip to Devil’s Lake, also in Baraboo.
My folks were married in Burnie’s Glen, right near there. Back in the 60’s you could find snow up in those hills as late as May.
