Despite getting bounced from the playoffs in a pretty much dismal showing, this was still probably the 3rd most successful season in franchise history. Now that my interest has shifted to the Packers (but only as of yesterday, thanks to their win over the Stinkhawks), I thought it might be fun to recap all the Brewer games I saw live this year.
- April 4th (Opening Day) vs. Giants: Bill Hall hits two homers with 6 RBI’s in 13-4 win.
- April 6th vs. Giants: Ben Sheets pitches complete game shutout, 7-0 victory.
- May 9th vs. Cardinals: Rickie Weeks has walkoff single in 4-3 win.
- May 17th at Boston (Double Header): Brewers look outclassed and outmanned in a depressing sweep at the hands of the defending world champs. My road trip, however, was a total blast.
- June 2nd vs. Diamondbacks: Fielder homer in 8th gives Brewers 4-2 victory.
- June 22nd vs. Orioles: Brewers pitchers give up 10 walks, but 5 double plays result in 7-3 win.
- July 6th vs. Pirates: 11-6 victory keyed by club record 9 doubles.
- July 30th vs. Cubs: 7-2 loss to the f*cking Cubs even more depressing than the sweep in Boston.
- August 22nd vs. Pirates: Strong performance by Dave Bush in 10-4 win.
- September 7th vs. Padres: Chris Young takes perfect game into the eighth in 10-1 loss.
- September 23rd vs. Pirates: Fielder walk-off homer in 7-5 dramatic win.
- October 4th vs. Phillies (NLDS game 3): The most electric atmosphere I’ve ever seen at Miller Park as Brewers prevail 4-1.
A pretty successful season for me as a fan as the Brewers go 9-4 in games I attended.
